Our logo mark
Our logo mark was inspired by the ‘Ctesiphon System,’ an innovative building system patented by Waller in the 1920s. Waller based this system on the immense catenary arch at the palace of Ctesiphon, which he saw when travelling through Iraq. Waller’s system was made up of regularly spaced timber arches and woven hessian bags; the logo mark is derived from these elements. Through three interwoven threads, the hessian element is present in the mark, as are the three pillars of Delap & Waller: quality, sustainability and leadership.

A brief history
Delap & Waller are MEP and Sustainability Consultants established 1911 in Ireland. Although Irish-based the company had an international outlook. They learned from building systems abroad, applying this knowledge to projects closer to home. Inspired by viewing a sixth century inverted catenary arch James Waller developed and patented new systems of building. His Ctesiphon and Nofrango systems required less raw materials, ideal for the post-War era.
We still uphold this heritage of innovation today, drawing from past experiences while looking to the future. We continuously improve our ways of working. With offices in London, Northern Ireland and Dublin, we’ve worked on projects in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic. Delap and Waller have also worked on projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Sectors include retail, hospitality and specialist projects such as healthcare and pharma. Education, heritage buildings, and residential projects are also among the varied sectors we’ve collaborated on.
We are particularly proud of our ongoing relationships and repeat clients. We believe that every client should be a repeat client and focus on providing excellent customer service, open communication and responsiveness. Our work has been recognised with a number of awards and shortlistings for Net-Zero designs.
