Coventry University, Delia Derbyshire – Faculty of Arts and Humanities
Based on the site of Coventry University, the project delivered the refurbishment of two existing Faculty of Arts and Humanities buildings with a new build atrium to link the existing buildings.
This was delivered through a 2-stage design and Build contract, with Delap & Waller appointed to the University’s Compliance Monitoring Team (CMT) to provide compliance monitoring and technical support for the mechanical, electrical and public health packages during RIBA stages 4b-7.
Working as part of a multi-discipline CMT, our experience engineering team have provided technical review and commenting on all aspects of design to ensure compliance with the employer’s requirements and verify a level of detail consistent with the RIBA Plan of Work. Activities have been completed to ensure procurement and construction programmes are maintained. As progress moves into construction phase Delap & Waller duties will include quality assurance, site inspections/witnessing, producing snagging report and reviewing and commenting on ‘As Built’ drawings and Operation & Maintenance information. Post completion involves providing support to the client through the defects period to ensure the quality and performance of the building are delivered.
