Delap & Waller were appointed as M&E Engineers to assist Reds10 in the provision of two new multi- occupancy buildings to Leconfield in East Yorkshire delivered as part of the Net Carbon Accommodation Programme (NetCAP) across the UK Defence Training Estate.

DST is the largest residential driver training school in the world, providing driver and transport manage- ment training to military personnel from the Army, RAF and Royal Marines, as well as support to global operations. The new buildings will accommodate stu- dents completing short courses at DST. Built by offsite construction specialist Reds10, the blocks provide 112 bedspaces across two-to-three-person rooms, along- side ablutions, drying and utility rooms.

Sustainable features, include rooftop solar panels, air source heat pumps and heat recovery systems. SMART building technology was installed, providing detailed information on their energy usage, feeding directly into subsequent building design and specifica- tions.
