Delap & Waller was appointed to provide M&E Engineering Services Consultancy to deliver a new build project at The Quays, Newry. The project was a 36,000sqft retail store over two floors, which consisted of General Merchandise, Food hall, Cafe Area and Staff Areas. We were involved from the shell development through the fit out stage to the project completion. This provided a continuity of design for the development as services requirements were able to be designed out at an early stage.

Working as part of the design team along with the project architect, we completed the design in Autodesk Revit and the project was contained a high level of information and a high level of de-tail .The project was fully co-ordinated with clash detection and resolution using Navisworks and meetings held by the design team. The key aspect to this project from a services perspective was primarily the lighting design and HVAC to ensure the that the environment conditions met requirements. The Foodhall refrigeration cabinets are open case, therefore careful design considerations had to be given to maintain ambient temperatures within the Foodhall, while not spoiling the product from overheating.
