National University of Ireland – Áras de Brún Building, Decarbonisation – Galway: Delap & Waller have been appointed as M&E and Sustainability Engineers to this project, which has an overarching vision that Áras de Brún will achieve a Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB). Assisting the university in carrying out fabric, heating and domestic hot water (DHW) and lighting system upgrades; to reinstate the natural cross flow ventilation system design aspects and install a comprehensive roof top photovoltaic electrical generation system. Systems will be designed to enable energy, ambient and other data to be captured and held in an online platform to enable research and teaching outcomes.
