Randox Science Park
This project involves the redevelopment of a former military estate to provide pharmaceutical production facilities including:
- Serum Production Laboratories
- Health-check Laboratories
- Administration
- IT Department
The Serum Production facility comprises specialist plant areas and manufacturing laboratories to Class 10,000 (‘cleanrooms’). The laboratories are heated and cooled by heat-pumps and have heat recovery ventilation. Specialist services, which were specified by Delap & Waller, include Grade 2 De-Ionised Water, compressed air, nitrogen and argon distribution and associated alarm systems. A range of cold-rooms (-40C, -20C and +4 C) are provided each with twin refrigeration plant, due to the high value product.
Electrical services include HV & LV power, LED lighting, aspirating fire alarms and are fully integrated with the specialist furniture and equipment.
The Health-check laboratories consist of ten class 10,000 labs, and have similar services to Serum.
An extensive Building Management System controls the services and a separate system is provided for validation of conditions required by FDA.
The IT Suite provides secure telecommunications and data storage, including a ‘disaster recovery’ suite and features low energy cooling and gaseous fire suppression.
